S5 and S6 Options Programme 15th March-1st April 2021

A reminder to S4 and S5 pupils that their subject choice google forms MUST BE completed no later than Thursday 1st April.

Our Senior Phase Options programme has moved online.

This means that you will complete your subject choices on a Google Form through your PSE Google Classroom.

Your Pupil Support Teacher will share a link with you from Monday 15th March to allow you to access this Google Form by House group.

Here is the information you need to make an informed choice:

National Progression Award in Journalism (Level 6)

The Journalism NPA is an introduction to journalism and is designed to focus on the key journalistic skills of researching and writing. Candidates will study a range of media before undertaking research, conducting an interview and producing both a feature article and a news article. Internal assessments will take place at appropriate points throughout the course. Pupils can still achieve some of the units, even if they do not pass the full course.

Entry Requirements
Pass at National 5 English.

Who is this for and why take this course?

This course would benefit pupils who are looking to go on to further education e.g. college.
It would be particularly beneficial for those pupils who have completed National 5 English yet feel they would struggle to achieve success at Higher.

On successful completion of the full course, pupils are awarded the equivalent of a Higher C.
